Data collection design
Documents : Although what it means by documents for research, according to my understanding, researcher should get consent by Ss. However, I’d like to inform Ss what I’m going to do differently in classes and ask their background knowledge and expectation. For specific lesson protocol, I’m considering SIOP model modified to Korean context. Also, prior researches would shed lights on research methodology. This is grounded theoretically.

Archival records : Including pretest Ss will take a monthly test formally and informally, which show Ss’ achievement and effectiveness of the lesson. Also, I could record my lesson and reflect for myself to recognize the Ss’ reaction, effectiveness of materials.

Interviews : Interviews could show their emotional and physical response. Other teachers’ interview will support or supplement the process.

questions: 1. My goal is to see the efficiency only? or have to set the purpose to the emotion to CLIL? Isn't it dual aim in one research?
ReplyDelete2. At this moment, for the data collection, I mostly focus on Ss' regular test result to see their improvement and my participant-observation and direct observation through video recording, and physical artifacts.

이게 affective filter라는 게 한정적인 것이,
남친을 사귀면서 영어를 배우면 motivation이 올라갈 수도 있고, 시험 때문에 배우면 내려갈 수도 있고
anxiety 가 있어서 동기유발이 될 수도 있고, 이게 너무 크면 동기 저하가 될수도 있고..
다양한 관점에서 multidiemtional 하게 서술할 수 있을 것이다.
2. 다양하게 조금씩이라도 다양한 자료수집을 해야 케이스스터디 답다. 참여관찰, 타인관찰, 인터뷰, 머티리얼, 등등..
특히 참여관찰 시 대상자에게 와주어서, 무엇을 초점맞춰서 관찰하고, 이런 질문을 할 예정인데, 대답을 해주고, 이런 대화는 녹음될 것이고, 몇 가지는 논문에 활용할 것이고, 그것이 퍼블리쉬될 것이다라는 정보를 주고
이런 내용을 서면으로 제시하여 서명을 받아두는 것이 좋다.
여기서 내 생각과 같은 결론이 나온다면, 나는 establishing validity 하는 것이다. purposeful sampling 하는 것과 같이 purposeful interview하는 것과 같다.
학생들에게 알리는 것은 필수적이지 않으며,
교장, 교감, 부장님께 여쭤봐서 학부모에게 물어볼까를 불어봐서 그래도 물어보라고 하면, 뭘 물어봐야 할지를 물어보자. ㅎㅎ
그리고, 교장교감의 사인을 받은 그 양식, 관찰자들에게 동의를 얻은 양식 등은 부록으로 넣는 것이 좋다.

ReplyDelete너무 다양하게 답을 얻으면 곤란하고, 일관성있는 답을 얻을 수 있는 의도적 샘플링이 필요하다.
세미 포커스 그룹.. 질문을 던저놓고, 녹음해놓고, 나가서 그들끼리 대화를 하도록 놔둬라. 훨씬 다이내믹하고 실질적인 대화가 나올 수 있다.
ReplyDelete교사든, 학생 대상이든 1:1 인터뷰와 그들끼리 대화하게 두는 것에는 많은 차이가 있다. 둘 다 시도해 보는 것도 재미있을 것 같다.
ReplyDelete다른 사람이 내 학생들을 인터뷰하게 하는 것도 더 타당할 수 잇겠다.
