I like number three especially . . . as teachers (and especially as teacher trainers, I think we assume that we have to do LOTS of different kinds of activities. In reality, I think we can--as you suggest--do a limited number of activities (but not the same thing all the time or something completely different each day), so that the students get into some sorts of habits, expectations, and understanding of procedures :).
